A TCP packet walks into a bar, and says to the barman: “Hello, I’d like a beer.” The barman replies: “Hello, you’d like a beer?” “Yes,” replies the TCP packet, “I’d like a beer.”
From here – these are great!
11 August 2013: Think I should add an explanation for the people who come here looking for one! TCP connects via a “three way handshake” – the client sends a request with a “sequence number” to the server. The server sends back an acknowledgement of the client’s sequence number as well as it’s own sequence number. The client then acknowledges the server’s sequence number. Doesn’t seem so funny now, does it? 🙂
